• Advocate for the rights, potential, and overall well-being of elders in our society;
• Facilitate recognition and development of the valuable purpose and opportunities in the second half of life;
• Help assure that health care services for elders reflect the best practice approaches for maintaining elder independence, dignity, purpose, and quality of life;
• Help assure that elders with cognitive impairment receive appropriate evaluations and interventions that maximize their potential;
• Facilitate enhanced skills and service delivery by those providing support services to elders, resulting in less elder deterioration and a higher quality of life;
• Assure that the legal rights of elders are not being violated due to misinformation and discriminatory procedures
